International Garden Photographer of the Year 2011; Monochrome


Just found out today I was awarded 3rd Place in the 4 Seasons category; Monochrome for the image below;  “Homage to Edward Weston”, which is a close up macro view of a tulip.

This is a macro view of a Venus fly trap (Dionaea Muscipula),  shot with minimum depth of field as I wanted to just focus on a very narrow section of the fly trap accentuating the black trigger hair and highlighting the traps.
