20 Amazing Plants & Their Practical Uses

My last book commission was to photograph the plants that featured in 20 Amazing Plants & Their Practical Uses by Rachel Corby. This commission I really liked as it enabled me to meet some amazing craftspeople from the UK and for a change, shoot some studio shots as most of my photography is location based.

The crafts are alive here in Britain they just take a little finding sometimes. Pre oil and plastics all things we used were made from natural resources and were cared for and looked after. The craftspeople put their time in learning the craft and their love and devotion in to making the objects. Nowadays in our disposeable culture things aren`t really valued. In Rachels book she takes you on a journey to a myriad of  uses of 20 different plants for a sustainable future and a move away from polluting materials like MDF and oil based plastics.

Below are a selection of images that were shot in colour for the book that only made it in to black and white and others that didn`t make it that are gathering digital dust!
